SWANS

I have enjoyed barracking for the Swans and the ex South Melbourne. I feel that after 50 years of having many disappointments and not winning a game for it seemed like seasons, that it was character building of the extreme! I had to in my early life at school, put up with the teasing and taunts of supporting such a lowly club. We would go to the footy every week and suffer losses. But we never gave up on them and continued to barrack hard. These rules were our life rules too...never give up when it gets tough, as someday you will be rewarded! When we won the Grand Final in 2005 it was so very, very special. I thought of all the people who had died and weren't there to witness the event. Many of my family in particular weren't there to share in the celebrations, but I certainly had a drink for them after the win. I have shared the journey with my daughter who only had to wait 15 years for the BIG ONE!
